Top Domain Sales For First Half Of 2014

Many people say that buying and flipping domains is dead and has been dead for a few years now. In some ways, these people are correct but flipping domains is not dead. The industry is evolving and making the quick money by flipping is not as easy as it used to be but the market is still there and the buyers are still there.

We’re not at the halfway point of 2014 just yet but I’m going to make a quick list here of the Top 20 Domain Sales of 2014 between the dates of January 1st, 2014 to June 8th, 2014. I’ll state the domain name and the selling price.

GoDaddy Files For $100 Million IPO

As you may have heard, domain registrar and hosting giant GoDaddy has recently filed paperwork with the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) to raise $100 million in a public offering. The company had filed to public back in 2006 but those plans were scrapped when KKR and Silver Lake acquired the company back in 2011.

The second IPO attempt has been on the rumor mill for some months now. GoDaddy has yet to to pick a stock ticker or exchange but Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, and J.P. Morgan have been hired as underwriters for the IPO.
